Hoi!

My name is Darío. I'm currently working as a software developer in the Netherlands, even though I'm originally from the northwest of Spain (ik kan wel Nederlands spreken, maar ik wil het verbeteren!).
I love meeting new people, listening to what they have to say and learning from their experiences and lives.

I have many hobbies such as photography, movies (I'm a huge fan and I try to watch everything I can... in fact "Mary and Max" is one of the reasons I am here in the first place); reading, listening to music (I listen to everything I can, although my favorite genre is metal/rock), playing both video and board games, traveling... quite a lot of stuff!
I enjoy having interesting conversations and discussing all kinds of topics !

I also try to be a positive person and don't take myself too seriously :)

It would be cool to meet people with somewhat similar ideas or hobbies, but I'm completely open to new experiences, so don't hesitate to hit me up if you want to talk about anything!

I am trying to perfect my Dutch, so I wouldn't mind if you could help me with it. I would like to go back to Japan in the future (I was there a couple of years ago) and I am planning to learn it a bit more seriously this time besides a few words and sentences.

I spend most of my free time walking around and visiting new places and taking photos, playing games with friends, discussing different topics with other people, reading/writing and watching movies or series.

I am open to new experiences and hobbies, so let me know what you love doing!

As I mentioned before, I like listening to everything I can, but if I had to choose, I would go with metal and hard rock music. Bands like Nightwish, Epica, Delain, Sonata Arctica, Orden Ogan or Bad Religion are always on my head.
I also listen to electronic music, but I'm kind of picky to what I enjoy.

I like every genre and listing every single movie I've liked doesn't make much sense, so I'm going to put the top 5 of the ones I've enjoyed the most so far:

- Inception
- Mary and Max
- Everything Everywhere All At Once (I tend to like almost everything that A24 makes)
- Before Trilogy
- La La Land

I don't watch too many series these days because of lack of time, but I do like them.

My favorites ones so far have been The Newsroom, The Queen's Gambit, The IT Crowd and many others.

I am a fan of thrillers/crime books, so I've read lots of Agatha Christie, Stephen King and other writers.
I also like fantasy and lately I've been getting into the books from Brandon Sanderson while waiting for the third book of The Name of the Wind.

My favorite writer is, though, Haruki Murakami. I don't really mind what he writes about, it's always entertaining to me.

Lately I've been trying to get into Graphic Novels/comic books and I already have a few, but I'm still pretty new.
