Hello I am Philomena the Platypus, sharing a small apartment in Reykjavik with a positively crazy human rainbow artist named Frida Adrian(a). We have 3 things in common: We look goofy but are well-adapted to a very specific environment, people often do not believe at first sight that something like us can really exist, and we like swimming on our backs. Who wrecked the long profile text? Maybe some big bad power of my totemic ancestors, who knows? Anyway, maybe it is time for a spring cleanup both in this section and in the house. I will be working as a dust brush with my tail again:) Me and my human might make really good SNAIL mail penpals for you if you 1. like quirky people and animals 2. like writing and receiving very rich thoughtful letters with relatively long intervals in between 3. Friendship matters more to you than the souvenirs or other gifts enclosed in letters 4. Contents matter more to you than what paper with what stickers they are written on (to make that come out right: Nice decoration to SUPPORT good content is VERY welcome! On the other hand, 1000 stickers and a 10-line letter just don*t work on a long term!)5. you are interested in rare languages, LGBTQI (etc) culture, grassroots movements,life between 2 cultures, art, small poetic no-name bands and odd humour. We do sorrily NOT have time and energy for one-time swaps, random chats, birthday videos for strangers, sending of Icelandic souvenirs incl. postcards, or hosting random people. We like meeting our penpals though if we have known them for a long time and if the situation is right. We are looking forward to hearing from you (please imagine Philo wagging her tail and Frida Adrian shaking their hair)

- Write in a somewhat intelligible language without abbreviations (extra please!)
- Do respect that platypi only believe in Mother Earth and genderqueer people are often in a gay rights movement, therefore missionary work of any kind is NOT appreciated
- please contact a consulate, embassy or similar institution for your questions concerning immigration, platypus plushies are not qualified for that
- Be aware that the sex life of platypi is not that exciting and any way-too-personal questions will result in the blocking of the user (thanks!)

At present, I just cannot afford teaching anybody for free. No capacities for random "I want to practice X" chats, sorry! And no Skype whatsoever! I welcome Basque, Catalan and Occitan speakers in the SNAIL mail!
