el camino y nada más;

Caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.

Al andar se hace el camino,
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.

Caminante no hay camino
sino estelas en la mar.

🪨 Gibraltar: Where Europe Meets the Sea

Standing on Gibraltar, you feel like you’re at the edge of the world. The massive limestone rock rises dramatically from the Mediterranean, a sentinel between Europe and Africa. From its heights, the sea stretches endlessly in every direction, and the horizon feels both infinite and alive.

Walking among the winding paths, you can hear the chatter of the famous Barbary macaques, the only wild monkeys in Europe. The city below hums with life, but up here, it’s the wind, the sun, and the sheer scale of nature that dominate.

Gibraltar is a place of contrasts: rugged cliffs and soft light, history and wildlife, city and sky. Every step is a reminder that the world is vast, surprising, and full of beauty waiting to be discovered.

🛣️ From Marseille to Granada: Our Hitchhiking Adventure

Sometimes, the best journeys aren’t the ones you plan — they’re the ones that surprise you. We decided to hitchhike from Marseille to Granada, and what a ride it was!

From Marseille to Montpellier, then Barcelona, and all the way to Valencia, we hitched rides with amazing people, shared laughs, stories, and music, and felt the road beneath us in the most free way possible. Each car brought a new adventure, a new view, a new connection.

Once in Spain, we had to switch to the bus — hitchhiking is illegal there, and yes, we got fined 😂 — but even that became part of the story. By the time we reached Granada, the journey itself felt like the reward: full of spontaneity, surprise, and a little chaos.

Travel isn’t just about the destination. It’s about the people you meet, the stories you collect, and the memories that make you laugh for years to come.

🌄 This is Marseille

From afar, Marseille unfolds like a painting — rugged cliffs, rolling hills, and the deep blue of the Mediterranean stretching beyond. The calanques carve the coastline with their dramatic shapes, while the surrounding hills and forests frame the city in a natural embrace.

These photos capture the wild side of Marseille: a city not just of streets and rooftops, but of wind, rocks, sea, and light. Standing here, looking at the horizon, you can feel the unique energy of this place — where nature and the Mediterranean meet, bold and timeless.

This is Marseille: wild, alive, and unforgettable.

❄️ The Snowy Alps: A Winter Wonderland

There’s a silence in the Alps in winter that feels almost sacred. The mountains, blanketed in thick snow, rise like quiet guardians above frozen valleys. Every peak glows under the soft light of the sun, every slope glitters with untouched powder.

Walking through the snow, you feel the cold bite at your cheeks, the crisp air filling your lungs, and the world shrinking to the crunch of your footsteps and the whisper of the wind. Ski trails carve paths through the white landscape, but even off the beaten tracks, the mountains invite you to pause, breathe, and simply admire their icy majesty.

In the Alps, snow transforms everything: rocks become gentle mounds, trees bend gracefully under their heavy coats, and streams freeze into glassy ribbons. It’s a place where time slows, where every breath feels sharper, brighter, alive.

Winter in the Alps isn’t just a season. It’s a reminder of nature’s power, beauty, and the quiet joy of being small beneath something so immense.

🐾 Marmots of Les Orres: Tiny Alpine Guests

High in the mountains of Les Orres, life moves at its own pace. Among the alpine meadows and rocky slopes, you might spot them — the marmots — curious little creatures that whistle when danger is near and bask in the sun when the air is calm.

I was lucky enough to photograph them, frozen for a moment in the golden light. Their soft fur, twitching noses, and playful energy make them seem like tiny guardians of the mountains. Watching them reminds me how alive even the smallest inhabitants are in these majestic landscapes.

In Les Orres, marmots aren’t just wildlife; they’re little reminders to slow down, observe, and celebrate the quiet wonders of nature.

🌊 A Day Out Petsitting Vegas in the Calanques

There’s something special about exploring the calanques with a dog under your care. Today, I took Vegas, a dog I’m petsitting, out for a walk along the rocky trails where the cliffs meet the turquoise sea and the sun warms the stones beneath our feet.

Vegas ran ahead, sniffing every corner, jumping over rocks, and discovering little hidden spots only a dog could find. The wind carried the scent of pine and salt, and the waves crashed rhythmically against the cliffs, creating a perfect soundtrack to our adventure.

Walking through the calanques, I felt a sense of freedom — every step a reminder of how vast and beautiful nature can be. And with Vegas’s playful energy, every moment became brighter, every view more alive.

Petsitting Vegas in the calanques isn’t just a walk. It’s a chance to breathe deeply, move freely, and share the simple joy of being in the mountains, the sea, and the sun — even for just one day.

🌺 The Alhambra: A Garden of Light and Stone

Walking through the Alhambra is like stepping into a dream where history and nature meet in perfect harmony. The red walls and intricate arches tell stories of centuries past, while the gardens breathe life into every courtyard.

Fountains murmur softly, their waters catching the sunlight and scattering it like tiny diamonds. Cypress trees, fragrant orange blossoms, and flowing vines create a tapestry of green and gold that contrasts beautifully with the warm tones of the palace walls. Every step reveals another hidden courtyard, another secret path, another moment of serenity.

The Generalife gardens, perched above the city of Granada, are a sanctuary of peace. Terraces, pools, and shaded walkways invite visitors to pause, listen to the birds, and feel the rhythm of the flowing water. Here, time slows, and the harmony of nature and architecture reminds you why the Alhambra has enchanted the world for centuries.

Visiting the Alhambra is not just sightseeing — it’s stepping into a living poem, where stone, water, and plants tell a story that whispers to anyone willing to listen.

🌊 Marseilleveyre and Its Calanque: A Day with Vegas

There’s something magical about the trails of Marseilleveyre. The mountain plunging toward the sea, pine trees scented with sun and resin, the wind weaving through the rocks… and that hidden little calanque where the water is always a deep, almost unreal blue.

Today, I had the joy of exploring it with Vegas, an adorable dog I’m petsitting. He ran everywhere, sniffing every stone, leaping along the paths, happy as if he knew all the secrets of the mountain and the sea. Together, we walked slowly, breathed the salty, fragrant air, and watched the waves crash against the rocks.

Marseilleveyre is a place that reminds you that even close to the city, nature can be a refuge. And with Vegas by my side, every step, every breath, every glance at the calanque felt even more alive.
