Born in Szechuan's fearfully fascinating environment,
Raised in Taiwan(Kaohsiung)'s traditionally harmonious atmosphere,
Educated in Australia's diverse culture,
Working in Hong Kong's ever-evolving landscape.
Well, briefly introduce myself to all the interested bodies.
I am Marco XIONG, but sometimes intimately nicknamed as Panda by my close buddies. Why? Simply because I am as lovely as the fluffy animal.. lol....
Apart from all the inner virtues that every Taiwanese cultivates and preserves, I am, based on the comments from those around me, also a down-to-earth and decent type of guy. I think it is the profound and extensive Chinese culture that instilled those traditional values in me.
I am also sort of slacked off, preferring soaking up as many rays as I can on a sandy beach with the company of a good book, on laid back Sunday afternoons.
As for hobbies, well, I am a one-hundred-percent travel enthusiast. I am obsessed with all the adventures and challenges en route and always ready to go off the beaten track to push myself beyond my limits. For me, traveling to or volunteering in the places that I have not been to before, exploring the diversities of the world and harbouring the fascination of different cultures enrich my life to the fullest.
In 2016, I finished my first round-Taiwan cycling tour and my round-Asia backpack trip.
In 2017, my travel continues. Where am I gonna go? Stay tuned... lol
I am also crazily interested in reading, with topics ranging from politics and history to fiction and biography. I am reading a book called "wild" this week, if any of u happens to have already cracked it, let's yield a lively discussion.
Requests
Language exchange matters.
Now, I am learning Hokkien, so would greatly appreciate if anyone is willing to help me with my rusty Hokkien. I have been attending proper Hokkien lessons for a while, but I am still nowhere close to being proficient in it... Bloody hell.
I can proficiently speak Mandarin, English, Cantonese.
French and Japanese remain at the elementary level, and I need to suck it up...
