About Me
All God's greetings upon you, ladies and gentlemen.
My name is Daniel, born in Russia in the year 2001. The age set above speaketh more of the inner world than of the flesh itself. A curious vagary that mayhap hath crossed the path of both you and me more than once.
Yet ere you grow weary of your humble servant's philosophy, let us speak of matters more immediate.
History, languages, psychology, politics, religion, and many other subjects so dearly loved by society only to be condemned thereafter are the cherished delights of my decaying heart.
Methinks there is a certain poetry in this moribund age: to yearn for a bygone world one hath never seen, to guard its memory as though it were one's own inheritance, and yet to dwell in the future more than in the past. Such is fate's exquisite irony.
Nor could I neglect music. Still waters run deep, and so do mine own tastes. This humble gentleman is enamoured of rock and folk, of musicals and electronic music alike. Yet one truth remaineth unshaken: rap is an unpardonable poison unto my careworn ears.
Perchance there remaineth some room for games among life's lesser pleasures. Tabletop role-playing games, strategy games, historical games. And, assuredly, chess. Nay, I should not be myself were I to omit it.
Ah, you inquire after my favourite motion picture, dear cousin. I daresay you may be disappointed, for I am no true devotee of the moving image. Yet among those flickering spectacles that dance before the eyes of mankind, demanding bread and circuses, one holdeth a special place in my esteem: The Addams Family (Barry Sonnenfeld, 1991).
Indeed, should your curiosity prove strong enough to endure this modest symphony of mental afflictions, I would gladly receive a letter from your hand.
And thus I take my leave. I hope your journey through the wandering corridors of this wounded mind hath not been entirely without delight.
Farewell, my friend, and may the waning light of this weary world yet guide you safely onward.
