About Me

Hi Everyone! My name is Adrian, I am 24 years old, and I recently moved to New York City in October, 2013. Although I am fairly new to the City, I love to explore and find my way around, going to concerts, parks, and new restaurants. I am learning Russian and would love to find someone in the City or around the world to help me, and of course I will help anyone with their English :)

I took two years of Russian classes at my university, but I have started to forget since then. I am currently taking private lessons and am hoping to find native Russian speakers to help me, as I would love to visit Russia and be able to speak and read in the language. So if you speak Russian, feel free to message me and I can help you as well with your English. I love talking with anyone with a good story to tell!

Hobbies & Interests

I love to play music! My house is filled with guitars and drums and I used to play the upright bass in jazz and classical ensembles. I also read quite a lot, especially Russian fiction.

Favorite Music

My absolute favorite musical artist is Bjork, but I love quite a lot of music from classical to jazz to rock.

My favorite composers are Stravinsky and Dvorak, but I am always looking to get in to more modern composers so send your suggestions my way!

Favorite Movies

I'm a big Woody Allen fan, my favorites: Hannah and Her Sisters, Annie Hall, Crimes and Misdemeanors. Also a lot of French films: A Very Long Engagement, Amelie, Priceless, Russian Dolls, Blame it on Fidel, Shall We Kiss?

Favorite Books

I love to read Russian fiction, and have read most of the major works by the famous writers (Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Pasternak, etc.) I also love books on Russian and Soviet history, economics, and philosophy.
