I'm late 40s and live in SW UK and I'm looking for friends to chat to online. Not looking for flirting or romance. I also follow a plant based/vegan diet so I'd love to hear from others!
INTJ - T if you're into that. Otherwise, I'm an introvert and identify as autistic.
Language Exchange Requests
I can speak some Spanish and French and
I could speak some Klingon once upon a time but it's all gone now beyond the sentence "Yes, I can speak Klingon and Federation Standard". Reading and writing piQad has completely gone but it was a very basic ability
Hobbies & Interests
I'm a quiet sort, preferring a night in to a night out. I enjoy cross stitch, jogging, yoga, Callanetics, hiking, photography - particularly cemeteries (my happy place!) and wild fungi, reading and a good cappuccino! I also love thrifting and vintage inspired styles such as Hell Bunny.
Favorite Music
I like a range of music, but mostly my Deezer is playing 80s pop, 80s rock, old skool rave, eurodance or 90s trance. I also like listening to soundscapes on YT like Hogwarts, Skyrim, vaporwave or Frutiger Aero.
Favorite Movies
I have bit of a guilty pleasure in Hallmark movies 😂😂
The Breakfast Club
Meet Me In St Louis
Session 9
The Cabinet of Dr Caligari (20s and 2000s remake)
Terminator
Back To The Future trilogy
Midnight Cowboy
The NeverEnding Story
Genevieve
Brigadoon
Pretty In Pink
The Others
Chappie
The Haunting (60s)
The Innocents
Carnival of Souls (60s)
Desperately Seeking Susan
Village of The Damned (60s)
Favorite TV Shows
I don't watch all that much TV but these come to mind as favourites. I grew up with various 70s comedies that would no doubt come with a cultural warning. Lately I'm listening to podcasts such as "The Brontë Sisters", "Vintage Dollhouse" and "Ellie Dashwood"
Cobra Kai
Trailer Park Boys
Twin Peaks
Brooklyn 99
Flight of The Conchords
X-Files
Knightmare
Degrassi - up until TNG only
Our Flag Means Death
Star Trek (not so much the original series)
The Young Ones
Favorite Books
I love 90s young adult horror like Point Horror and other lines such as Point Romance or Point Crime. Other favourite authors of mine are Enid Blyton, Thomas Hardy and the Bronte sisters. I also enjoy late/Victorian Edwardian ghost stories writers such as EF Benson and MR James along with detective fiction writers like Emma Orczy, Louisa Perkins, Agatha Christie etc
I do occasionally pick up a chick lit read if I need to be fed something rather than think about it.
Favorite Quotes
"No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood so for eighty years and might stand for eighty more" - The Haunting of Hill House, Shirley Jackson
"What shall I sing to my lord from my window?
What shall I sing, for my lord will not stay?
What shall I sing, for my lord will not listen?
Where shall I go, for my lord is away?
Whom shall I love when the moon is arisen?
Gone is my lord, and the grave is his prison.
What shall I say when my lord comes a-calling?
What shall I say when he knocks on my door?
What shall I say when his feet enter softly, leaving the marks of his grave on my floor?
Enter my lord, come from your prison.
Come from your grave, for the moon is arisen"
- The Innocents, 1961
