UNTHINKABLE

I love it when I'm correct.
Those of you familiar with my notes, and by you I mean YOU, might remember my earlier notes proclaiming MICHAEL SHEEN my choice as the next great actor.
Forget that, he might already be the greatest actor working today.
I saw a film the other night titled UNTHINKABLE, a film I had never heard of before seeing it.
It starred SAMUEL L. JACKSON, I do a pretty bad impersonation of him that consist of my talking really loud (actually yelling is more like it) in a really horrible perception of what a black man sounds like that might to some border on racist.
But its all in fun so relax people I'm no racist (except for the times when I'm either alone or with other white people in the car) kidding.
Sam plays a black ops (that means his job doesn't really exist as far as the public knows) interrogator brought in by the government on a special mission.
CARRIE ANNE MOSS the cute chick from the MATRIX movies plays an FBI agent with a different approach than Jackson's character.
And finally my boy MICHAEL SHEEN whom by the way has made sweet love to my gal KATE BECKINSALE (and I don't hate him for it)
plays a convert to Islam who has been captured by the government after he has placed 3 nuclear bombs in undisclosed locations in the U.S.
And, its not for the squeamish.
I admit to not being the biggest Samuel L. Jackson fan, one reason being that he includes his middle initial in his name, what's up with that?
HOWEVA! He was awesome in PULP FICTION "Say what again" and deserves an award for his role in this flick.
Michael Sheen? This dude strikes me as being very particular to the roles he plays because I don't think he's ever been in or will ever be in a film that sucks.
He's also deserving of an award for this film.
Most of the movie is these 2 dudes together which is awesome when 2 great actors appear on screen together and both give tremendous performances.
Carrie Ann Moss deserves props too because her character and performance are needed to make it all work together.
3 characters with 3 approaches that makes this 1 memorable movie.
I bet its been a while since you really yelled at the television set?
Regardless of your beliefs this movie will have you yelling at it one way or the other.
This movie deals with a deep and to some a touchy issue...TORTURE.
For a very tiny and brief moment I thought this film had a liberal anti- torture agenda which pissed me off (mostly because I like to watch a film not someone's agenda) but just as I started to think the worse I realized that it didn't have an agenda but rather asked a question.

On a scale of ZERO to FOUR I give UNTHINKABLE...3.5 GREGGIES.
This movie went straight to video, never appearing in cinemas, and is in my opinion the best film of the year.
It was awesome and brilliantly written.
I havent gotten into a movie as much as I did this one in a long time.
3 GREGGIES just weren't enough and not many movies are worthy of 4 GREGGIES at least not until a few years down the road.
