About Me
While you are scrolling through this, people in Ukraine are dying because of russia's ongoing war.

I can be happy just walking the streets without many plans, or slowly sipping coffee, or reading (new) books, or making berry jam. I love lazy afternoons, getting postal letters and postcards, writing, laughing, cozy dinners with friends, and travelling. As much as I enjoy meeting different people, I also love being alone, and if I cannot spend any time on my own, I can easily feel overwhelmed.
It feels sooooo good to get up and know that I can stay at home all day. I love having days off. ^^

Having written all this I should also add that on most days I am super busy and spend my time talking to hundreds of people.

I am a vegan. No, I am not at all religious, I don't think I will save the world, I do not even consider myself a naturalist, I hadn't been brainwashed. It was a conscious choice I made more than a half of my lifetime ago and I am happy not to support all the suffering that is behind meat&dairy products. I do think unnecessary killing and abusing animals is wrong, for whichever reason it is done.
Requests
I’m MARRIED, so I’d prefer to have female penpals. All I am interested in is friendship and getting paper letters or postcards (that is, if your country still has post offices).

At times, I think there’s not much sense in keeping my profile here anymore, in this day and age and at my age, since there’s little chance of forming a sincere friendship. But then again, who knows?

I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it weren’t for all the wonderful penpals who have been part of my life.

I am searching for sincere and down to earth type of people who are not too serious and very serious at the same time; people with common sense and a healthy appetite; who like writing (or talking :) ) and who know how to put a sentence together; with similar or not so similar interests; vegans or at least vegetarians (I really doubt I can become friends with a person who thinks killing and torturing animals is not a big deal).

I am interested in all countries, similar ages.

In general, I believe there is so much more and so much less to people than meets the eye.

I dislike pretentiousness and unkind people.
Hobbies & Interests
In no particular order: walking in cities, trees, houseplants, travelling, road trips, maps, gardening, psychology, neuroscience, collecting stamps and what not - not sure there is much sense in this, societies, social anthropology, natures-cultures, humanistic photography, movies, sweet peas&sunflowers, wild meadows, Christmas markets and all things Christmassy, pottery, letters&parcels, Poland, design, ethnic crafts, wooden heritage, beautiful things and interiors, forests, Borneo, second-hand markets, birdwatching and penpalling.
Having coffee and cake in a cafe & writing or reading & watching people also makes me happy. ^^
I strongly support human rights & LGBTQ people.

Not interested in: paranormal, astrology, gaming, gurus, gods, no matter which religions (wicca/paganism included), horror movies, zombies, vampires, excessive drinking, smoking etc.
Favorite Music
Some (post) bossa-nova, some ska, some rock, some folk, some new wave, some reggae, some indie, some (contemporary) folk, some folk-rock, some jazz, some blues, mbalax, Balkan, Hindu/Indian/South-Asian/Bollywood/Bengali music, '70s, '80s, '90s, some classical music, even some cheesy pop! :-)

Again, in no particular order and not necessarily these days: Belle & Sebastian, Caetano Veloso, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Cocteau Twins, Tame Impala, Nina Simone, Zdob shi Zdub, Falco, David Bowie, The Pretenders, The Doors, Radiohead, Brian Eno, The Dubliners, Kings of Convenience, Andrius Mamontovas, Marek Grechuta, Zbigniew Wodecki, Gaba Kulka, Golec uOrkiestra (and a lot more Polish musicians and bands), Neil Young, Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac, George Michael, Air, Bob Marley, Desmond Dekker, and a lot more! Tori Amos and Alanis Morissette were very important during my formative years.

I believe I have quite a broad taste in music. I just can’t stand house, and I’m not a fan of metal.
Favorite Movies
Hirokazu Koreeda, Richard Linklater, Sophia Coppola, Naoko Ogigami,  Mike Leigh, Lewis Gilbert (only because of Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine), Vikram Gandhi, (only because of Kumare), Hal Ashby (only because of Harold and Maude and Being There), James Clavell (only because of To Sir with Love), and Hayao Miyazaki are among my favorite directors. I am a big fan of Louis Theroux's documentaries, and I love Christmas movies.
Favorite Books
Anything by Lucy Maud Montgomery. <3
These days I read too much professional literature that does not allow so much time for pleasure reading.
The Story of Moomin Valley, Pippi Longstocking and The Robber Hotzenplotz, together with some other adventure books that I read as a child, influenced my personality greatly. <3
Favorite Quotes
Every person in your life was once a stranger to you.
