About Me

Hi! I’m an American guy living in Washington, DC. I’m originally from the southeastern state of North Carolina and also spent three years in my 20s living in Warsaw, Poland, and a couple years in Boston after that. Otherwise, I’m 32 years old and work as a human rights lawyer. I also previously taught English to adults during my three years in Poland.

I haven’t used this site for many years, but am hoping to get on it again, primarily for language exchange. I’m currently trying to improve my Spanish, which is probably at an intermediate level now, so I’d especially prefer to have some more people to speak Spanish with. Otherwise on my end, I’m a native English speaker, and also speak Polish at an upper intermediate level and intermediate level Russian and French. So I’m happy to chat with anyone trying to learn those languages especially if they can practice Spanish with me. Please feel free to reach out!

Hobbies & Interests

For fun, I enjoy spending time with friends, long runs, international travel (currently at 40-something countries), reading (all kinds of things but mostly historical nonfiction), watching tv/films, learning about history/politics, cooking, craft beer, and museums. Some of my answers in the other sections about favorite books, music, etc. are a bit outdated from when I used this site 10ish years ago, so I will try to update those more at some point too. Anyway, please feel free to say hi!
