Infective endocarditis - (IE) is a serious infectious (usually bacterial) disease, with the initial lesion heart valves and parietal endocardium. It is accompanied by destruction of valves, embolic, thrombohemorrhagic, immunecomplex distraction of internal organs. In the pediatric population are increasing frequency of the IE because of the growth of children with congenital heart disease.
Objective: To reveal the peculiarities of IE, clinical manifestations, complications and outcomes.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: In the study included 7 children (girls: boys = 1: 2.5) between the ages of 2 month. to 17 years, were under observation in the Morozov Children's Clinical Hospital in the period 2014-2015 with the diagnosis of infectious endocarditis. At the study of children's use of standardized clinical-anamnesis, laboratory (including C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), blood cultures for sterility) and instrumental methods (ECG, echocardiogram) with dynamic control.
