Hello!
I’m Gohar, an Armenian living in Austria since February 2017. Before that, I spent an unforgettable 1.5 years in Germany, where I soaked up countless experiences. Let’s just say, those were some formative and exciting times! Before Germany, I lived in Russia for six years—though, truth be told, that chapter didn’t quite leave me thrilled.

I’m a musician and a social education worker, currently working with children. My work and passion constantly remind me of how important it is to stay curious and open. You don’t have to travel to faraway, exotic lands to discover incredible things. Sometimes, the most profound treasures lie in the people you meet along the way. I do my best to live by that philosophy, and I think I’m doing a decent job at it!

I’m endlessly curious about life—its meaning, its absurdities, its mysteries. I guess that curiosity is part of who I am.

Now, for those who are wondering: my name is Gohar. Yes, Gohar is my name. And before anyone from Pakistan rushes to remind me, I know—it’s also a common male name there. Thanks for pointing it out (again).

If you’re curious about Armenia, let me give you a little glimpse:

Present-day Armenia is a small, mountainous republic that gained independence in 1991 after seven decades under Soviet rule. But Armenia is far more than just its modern borders—it’s one of the world’s oldest civilizations.

Did you know Armenia was the first country in the world to officially adopt Christianity as its state religion around 300 AD? We Armenians are incredibly proud of that heritage. And then there’s Mount Ararat—a symbol of Armenian identity. According to biblical tradition, it’s where Noah’s ark came to rest after the flood. While Mount Ararat now lies outside Armenia’s borders, it remains deeply significant, visible on the horizon from Yerevan, like a dream that’s always just out of reach.

Our language is another cornerstone of Armenian identity. It’s part of the Indo-European family but stands alone as its own unique branch, without any close relatives. Our alphabet, created by the monk Mesrop Mashtots in the 5th century, is one of a kind and a source of immense pride for Armenians.

So, that’s me—Gohar—a curious explorer of life, a proud Armenian, and someone who’s always ready to connect and discover.

I'm not that much experienced in Travelling , but I guess I really enjoy it... in some other, more simple and beautiful way(at least for me) ...

- To try and have a few favorite table games
- Scrapbooking
- To fly with a Luftballon
- To be able to have a strategy during a Chess-play

I think that Parajanov was an artist und Tarkovsky a genius 😁
I love almost everything from David Lynch, he is like the old and strange uncle I never had 😄

...and even TV Shows, some of them I even like

I do read books.
I think I love almost all of literature of Existentialism.
Last good  book I read lately was Milan Kundera’s ‘ The Unbearable Lightness of Being’ .
