What happened?

This use to be a site where people came to get penpals and make friends

Now it seems its all about people trying to hook up with people or a bunch of fakes taking advantage scamming honest people. This I know because I've been scammed already twice here and yet maybe I am being stupid thinking if I hold out I will actually find some honest good people here
