Hi, this is Greg.  I'm a scientist who is back in school studying the rainbow trout immune system.  Prior, I was an analytical scientist in industry.

While I am an American, my mom is an immigrant, having come from the Portuguese island of San Miguel when she was 16.  My grandmother solely spoke Portuguese, I was raised in a city that was primarily of Portuguese descent, and I even attended a Portuguese elementary/middle school.  For the past four years, I've gotten extremely close to lab mates from around the world--my boss Dr. Bromage is from Australia, my friend Priti is from India, and my friend Francisco is from Colombia--I've learned to embrace (and laugh at) cultural differences.  Anyway, I think it's fair to say that my outlook may be somewhat different from a purebred American (if such a thing exists)

Oh, and I'm gay...if that matters.  It shouldn't, but if it does, that's your problem...not mine.

If your country sells Coke or Dr Pepper with cane sugar, feel free to mail one to me...I'm tired of this high fructose corn syrup.

As you'd guess, I'm a nerd by nature and many of my hobbies umm...seem to fit that role.  I do enjoy jogging in the forest just about daily, I'm an avid reader/writer/movie-goer, and my music consists almost entirely of 70s/80s.  Ah, as far as tastes in food, I will eat anything!  Anything!  I come from a Portuguese background, so...we have an iron stomach.  I'm realizing how dull I sound.  Well, whatever. 

Every summer, I break out the badminton rackets, although this year, I've only gotten a few matches in.  I'd like to pick up a few new hobbies, since it seems I was a bit deprived as a child.
