About Me
Hello, world!

My name is Ananya and I was born in the heart of India 19 years ago.

I love all the shades of purple, to the extent that if I see something purple in a store, I'd buy it (if I have enough money, of course). (I can't be the only one, right?!)

I'm shy, introverted, possibly asexual and have social anxiety, which means that in a public setting I would not directly approach someone to strike up a conversation, and I get a constant feeling of people staring at me. Things are different on the internet, of course! :D

I like sending and receiving long text messages where people exchange stories - they show that the other person wants to hold on to the conversation more than any short messages about whereabouts do.

If I could choose anything in the world, I'd choose to be a happy person (obviously!). I'd want a job that I'm happy with, enough money to get by, and puppies (I love puppies. Golden Retrievers are my favorite). I also want to make this world a better place.

I'm a hygiene freak. I wash my hands 20 times a day and still feel they're dirty.

Can't think of any more random facts about me! :P

PS. I'm against homophobia, racism, sexism, Islamophobia, drugs, rape, stereotyping, hypocrisy, etc. I would describe myself as an equalist (because the word 'feminist' doesn't sound as good to me). People judge other people all the time, but I think it's wrong to judge someone or cast them out based on their gender or sexual preference or race or religion, etc. Also, about hypocrisy, I feel that everyone's a hypocrite sometimes. But I try not to be one.

PPS. ^ That doesn't look like the right way to conclude this section, so..
I love food! Yayyy! :D
Requests
I'm looking for people who are like me, because I feel the less the differences, the better two people can get along. Now some people would say that differences pose challenges and challenges are fun. Well, not for me! Challenges are challenges. I don't want them in a friendship. (This does not mean that I don't respect any opinions that are different from mine) Also, please be in the age group of 18-21 (this is not a strict boundary) if you want to be friends with me. If we're almost the same age, chances are we're going through the same things and we can relate to each others' stories.

Please don't do the following:

1. Send a simple 'hi/hey/hello, how are you?' message. Please introduce yourself first, and if possible, tell me why you texted me (what you liked / didn't like about my profile).

2. Try to flirt with me or ask for my pictures or number.

3. Use inappropriate language directed at me.

4. Try to force me to change my beliefs about God (this has happened once before). It's one thing to have a belief of your own and another to force someone to believe in the same thing. I'm not religious or anything, but I think that there is one superior power. Please don't try to change that.

5. Contact me if you're a sexist/racist/homophobe.

6. Make fun of the things I like (for example: "OMG How can you like that dress? It's gross!"). My preferences are usually different from others', as a result of which people say such things to me all the time. I stopped talking to them, and if you do that to me, I will stop talking to you.
Hobbies & Interests
Don't ask me what I do when I'm bored. I don't know. :(
Favorite Music
I listen to almost all genres, from soft music to metal and everything in between, depending on my mood.
Favorite Movies
I haven't seen a lot of movies in my life, but I usually watch movies based on the books I've read (only to be disappointed later on because movies don't capture all the details in the book) or based on peoples' lives. To name a few, I liked:

V For Vendetta [Watch it!]
3 Idiots (Bollywood) [It's about three friends - not a romantic flick like what you would expect from Bollywood - with a decent storyline]
The Imitation Game [Based on the life of Alan Turing]
The Theory Of Everything [Based on the life of Stephen Hawking]
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo [The girl is such a rebel. I love her.]
Favorite TV Shows
The first series I tried watching was How I Met Your Mother, but it kinda got monotonous after the first 3-4 episodes so I stopped and decided that I can't watch any series. That was until Mr. Robot came out. I love that show. After that I watched two seasons of Hannah Montana (just to refresh my childhood memories) and for the same reasons I'd like to finish all the remaining seasons of the show and start with Lizzie McGuire and That's So Raven. I also like the cartoon TV series Recess.
Favorite Books
I love reading. Too bad I don't have the time to read a lot anymore. Nevertheless, I'll put down some of the books I like:

Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
Paper Towns by John Green
A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks
The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks
The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
Favorite Quotes
"Life gets better."
-Unknown

"The only obstacle between you and your goal is you".
