Hi! I’m Julián, a Mexican polyglot and professional linguist. Languages are my passion, and honestly I’m happiest when I get to listen, learn, and share languages and cultural differences with other people in a language different from my mother tongue. I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to phonetics, accents, and dialects—I like getting into the little details.
Outside of languages, I enjoy playing ragtime piano (I’m always practicing and trying to improve little by little). Music is veeeery important in my life, and I also love hiking because it keeps me grounded—I really like simple moments and learning and being guided by others who know more than me, as well as sharing what I know.
My humor is sarcastic, and sometimes misunderstood. I’m easygoing, calm, laid-back, patient, and I really like making people laugh. I’d describe myself as someone supportive rather than competitive, but I know my strengths and my competitive self can wake up when needed. If you enjoy leading the way and know how to, I’ll gladly follow along.
