About Me
Oh hi there.  Welcome to my little page, where I hope you enjoy your stay.  I hope you don’t think it too forward of me asking, but let’s be friends!  Before saying yes, however, there are a few things you should know about me…

I just got back from traveling around the world solo for almost the past two years on one of those "what does it all mean" journeys.  Like Eat, Pray, Love... only, you know, with a "man bun guy" instead of Julia Roberts.

I'm living in Denver, Colorado (For those of you outside the U.S. think Rocky Mountains and cowboys. There are fewer cowboys these days, but once upon a time this was the wild, wild west) for the next few months until I get my stuff together enough to relocate outside of the country.  I hear Central and South America are amazing! I haven't made it there yet!  I have a tiny dog who has a limp who I love very much.

I talk to myself constantly and have a tendency to reply. I own a megaphone and get really excited when I get to use it, but let’s face it, in almost all circumstances a megaphone is wildly uncalled for.

I love spending time in nature.  I find the most peace sitting under a tree miles from anyone and anything.  One great thing about Denver is that I can go from the city center to the mountains in an hour, and can be miles from anything in two.  If you ever want to hear what is really going on inside your head go sit in the woods alone for a week.  Zen as fuck.

Even though I get peace from nature, I get life from the city.  I love the energy, I love the noise, I love watching the people and being around old things. Concerts, bike rides, coffee shops, picnics, dinner at restaurants on the patio, farmers markets… you know, that kind of thing.

Once upon a time I was a professional musician.  I play a bunch of instruments, but am a master of none. I played guitar and piano in a rock band.  Some days I miss it very much.  I miss being around the people in the band more than I miss the music and I reeeeally love playing music.

I am a vegan killjoy.  Sorry to say, but I am the guy who will tell you all about the harmful effects of factory farming and vividly describe roadkill while you are trying to eat your hamburger.  Sorry in advance.  I can’t help myself.

I cannot abide bigotry of any type. (I appreciate the irony of that sentence.)

I collect and restore typewriters.  The collection is getting a little out of control. (35 isn’t that bad, is it?) No one man has the capacity to type THAT much, although I am always up for the challenge.  If I learn five things about you I will already be trying to figure out the perfect typewriter for you.

Charming. Eccentric. Driven. Passionate. Creative. Perfectionist. Pragmatic. Restless.

When I get fed up with existence I fantasize about selling everything I own, cashing in my savings and going to live in a shack on the beach.  It’s pretty much all I think about these days.

…oh, and fuck Donald Trump.

If you made it to the end you are a goddamn hero. (Slow clap begins…)
Requests
I want to hear about your life.  I want to hear what it is like to be you and all about your world. What does your city, or lack thereof, sound like? Where do you get your coffee? (Do you drink coffee?) What is your commute like? What do you do after work? Take me there with your words.

I would to exchange snail-mail letters (remember the typewriters?), but I get that for some people that sounds like the worst idea ever, so I am also up for emails and chatting. We do live in the future, after all.

I am more than open to talk with anyone from wherever almost always.  The most important thing, however, is to NOT BE BORING, FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING THAT IS HOLY!!! Unfortunately, it seems that there is an epidemic of "boring" infecting the masses indiscriminately and without mercy sweeping across the globe faster than Covid.

I apologize for being another stupid American, but I only speak English. It's embarrassing, but true. To all of you out there who can speak 19 languages I commend you.  You have my admiration and unadulterated jealousy.

Excited to hear from you!

I don't care whether or not music sounds better on vinyl- it's better on vinyl because its more fun that way.

The Lord of the Rings series

Favorite Quotes
"Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place."
     -Kurt Vonnegut

“You’re a ghost driving a meat coated skeleton made from stardust. What do you have to be afraid of?”
     -Who knows.
