About Me
Hi there!
My name is Louis. I live on a small Island in the Orkney Isles, a small group of Islands situated off the north coast of Scotland. I'm married and we have one child together.

I was born and brought up at the Lighthouse on the Island, as my dad was a Lighthouse keeper.

The nearest town, Kirkwall is about 30 miles away and you need to take either a boat or a plane to there. There's only one small shop on the Island, so we get most of our supplies from Kirkwall.

I studied at College for 4 years before leaving in 2009.

Like many people on the Island i have several part time and seasonal jobs. My main work however is currently is at the local school. I also am part of a few local groups where i volunteer my time towards meetings to help and support with organising events and celebrations. I also have recently got a new job working at the local airfield.

I do love travelling and have a great interest in the natural world. Anything related to working with animals and/or the environment while travelling at the same time would be an ideal job for me!

I joined Interpals for the reason to get to know people from around the world, to learn and share all about each others different cultures and everyday life. I And maybe even to meet a few more penpals!

I would describe myself as being down to earth and sensible. I can come across as being rather quiet, shy and socially awkward to begin with when I first meet new people. But once you get to know me I can be quite talkative. I'm open minded in general and also a deep thinker.

Towards others I would say I'm friendly, respectful, sensitive, caring and kind.
Requests
Please bare with me if I'm not replying back that quickly. I have more work than ever and a son who's a toddler so my time spent online here is more limited.

I'm open to exchanging possible short letters with postcards, photos, interesting articles, brochure, leaflets or newspaper clippings, souvenirs and other little things related to you and your interests and about where you live. I welcome messages from anyone, from any part of the world. Your age, race, gender doesn't matter to me. Just as long as your nice, friendly and genuine!

So don't be shy in sending me a message! I prefer private messages but wall posts are o.k as well. I'll do my best to reply to everyone. However if I don't manage to reply back to you please don't take it as an offence. I may just be busy and not have time.
Hobbies & Interests
Not much time for hobbies these days. Most of my free time I'm playing with my son and teaching him about the world around. But I have a wide range of interests! Here are just a few of them:

"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Nelson Mandela

"Treasure your relationships, not your possessions"

"Most people walk in and out of your life but only friends leave footprints in your heart"

"Laughter is the brush that sweeps away the cobwebs of the heart"

"Friendship is the golden ribbon that ties the world together"

"In the end we only regret the chances we didn't take. The relationships we were scared to have and the decisions we waited too long to make. There comes a time in your life when you realise who matters, who doesn't, who never did and who always will. So don't worry about the people from your past there's a reason they didn't make it to your future."
