I am one of these people who can't get enough linguistics trivia and will be excited to discuss every aspect of language expression and change. However, despite being interested in the theoretical background I believe that the ultimate purpose of learning a language is communication. If you are not a native speaker I won't expect your grammar or spelling in German (or whatever language you choose to write in) to be perfect and I hope that you won't mind my mistakes either!
