Hi all! First generation American. My mom from Edinburgh, Scotland and my Dad from Oudtshoorn, SA. I love to write. I love to garden, ornamental and veggies! My parents were great, they globally educated us to show us the only race on this planet is the human race. And every one we meet is our neighbor. Requests
The only request I can possibly think of is if every country would become more conscious of their carbon footprint. You all may live in structures that you call home, but it's the Earth that is our real home and we must nurture and love her.
Language Exchange Requests
I would like to learn more about these languages: French, Dutch and Afrikaans, Spanish. Any actually. Best way to span the gab as it were.
Hobbies & Interests
Gardening, Egyptology, Space and all of it's wonders, Mysteries, History, and learning as much about the world as I can. I love old movies, especially pre-code. Hammer films. Old Black and White Horror movies. Go Bela and Boris!
Favorite Music
Very eclectic. Classical (Debussy!) , Folk (any cultures), Beatles, Glam, Rock from the 60's to the 70's, and Soul. I do like Adele voice, beautiful, and I admire Lady Gaga for being a strong (straight edge) role model for anybody. She believes that art is a living entity that can be used for so many good proactive purposes and she is correct. Her music is a bit too techno for me but if it helps comfort a bullied child than more power to her.
Favorite Movies
Anything that's Black and White = especially pre-code. I do like anything by Blake Edwards and Mel Brooks. Film noir from the 40s and 50s. And last but not least, the silent movie era.
Favorite TV Shows
I don't care for telly. It takes you away from more important aspects of life, living. Give me a good read anytime. Although, I do watch PBS. In the US, that's our public television. Thankfully or else I wouldn't see any good British telly programs.
Favorite Books
Restoree, by Anne McCaffrey. Whenever I feel out of sorts, that's my go to book. My copy is in tatters, but still readable. I have to keep it in a plastic bag to keep it safe. But I have, last count have read that book over the past 30 yrs, at least 12 times. After that Agatha Christie anything. And I research everything. My dad always said, "Don't know it, open a book and find out."
