About Me
I'm interested in psychology, design, science, movies, literature and creative writing. If you share at least some of these interests - I'd be very glad to hear from you.

I have a soft spot in my heart for all readers. And I'm a bit suspicious towards people who doesn't read or unable to fill "favorite books" section of the profile - it's the first one I check after "requests".

I'm fond of English, this language is so effective and beautiful! I do my best to speak and write it properly but I have a lot to learn. So If you are a native English speaker and especially if you're a creative writer, poet or scholar of literature - I will be delighted to hear from you!

I'm neither shy nor touchy, so you can just be yourself and not to be afraid to offend me because of cultural difference or something. If I ever feel that you are stepping on the border I will politely let you know.

I'm bright (someone who shares natural world-view). I consider myself a spiritual person, but in my understanding of spirituality it never contradicts scientific knowledge. In this regard my role-models are W. James and C. G. Jung - they both were quite open-minded towards possibilities but not very eager to accept ungrounded explanations. So if organized religion plays a major role in your life or if you think that "creation science" is a science - it would probably be hard for us to find common ground.

/// In case you don't know where to start, just tell me:
- how your day was and what are you planning to do with the rest of it?
- what was the last movie you've seen and did you like it?
- what was the best live show you've attended in your life?
Requests
English native speaker around my age (+\- 15). Preferably a female - it's not that I'm going to flirt with you (at least if you don't start first), it's just my particular experience with this particular site has shown females as more interesting and stable correspondences.

Any format (or a mix of formats) is fine by me:
  • I open to realtime spoken communication though Skype or some other live chat or the exchange of prerecorded voicemessages.
  • I haven't written snail mail for years, it would be interesting to try.
  • Emails are also ok if you are not sick of them at your job already :)
  • Or we can chat through telegram - I like these videobits it allows to record :)

I will answer any message longer than two lines. Person who writes more than "hi, howa U" deserves at least this much of respect. And that's what I wait from you - since I cared to spend time to read your profile and to come up with some sane message.
  • Language Exchange Requests
I always appreciate help with my English. If you for some bizarre reason want to learn Russian or Ukrainian - I'd be glad to help.
    Hobbies & Interests
I play Magic: The Gathering and consider it as a practice of self-development

I can speak about psychological meaning of horror movies longer than you'll be willing to listen :)

Currently I'm studying Jungian psychology, so if you are into Jung, Campbell, mythology, naturalistic paganism and similar things - I'll be interested to connect with you

Sometimes I write articles for a glossy on psychology and I keep being amazed that people actually pay to read my stuff.

I also used to be a thinking trainer and effective learning coach, but I don't do this anymore
    Favorite Music
Rock (especially classic prog- & art-rock), world music, jazz, heavy & sympho-metall, dream-pop, disco, celtic, synthwave
My favorite band is Jethro Tull, I've been on their live performances three times :)
    Favorite Movies
Snow Cake, Accidental Tourist, Kiss The Sky, My Best Friend's Wedding, Story About Us, The Pledge, Talented Mr Ripley, Triangle, Prestige, Insomnia...
    Favorite TV Shows
Slings & Arrows, House MD, HappyTown, DayBreak, Millennium, American Gothic, The Pretender, Friends, West Wing, Leverage, Poirot, X-files...
    Favorite Books
I like stories that have some mystery inside (preferably with some subtle supernatural element), reach characters (preferably with some romance going on as a support storyline), interesting location, tasty language and attention to details.
If at least couple of this criteria are met and others aren’t completely ruined (you know, like when it’s very tight-twisted detective story but the language is so awful or characters are so flat that you just can’t read it) there’s a strong chance I would like the book and would forgive it some shortcomings if needed.
    Favorite Quotes
"Successful people aren't born that way. They become successful by establishing the habit of doing things unsuccessful people don't like to do. The successful people don't always like these things themselves; they just get on and do them."
    Charles De Lint

"Some people die in 25. They just don't get buried until 80."
    attributed to Milton Ericsson

    "Win-Win or No Deal"
    Stephen Covey
