Hi! My name's Erin, and I'm a university student from Toronto. I've lived in Canada for most of my life, and I'm a native English speaker who can converse formally and informally equally well. I've also worked as an ESL tutor in the past, which I love doing, so I can help at various levels of fluency! My knowledge of Russian is extremely basic so I'd like to work on basic sentence structure, making introductions, etc. In return I can help you with almost any aspect of English, from basic conversations to business correspondence to slang! Some of my interests are heavy metal music, tattoos/piercings, illustration, kick-boxing, video games, and philosophy! I'm always up for new things, though, and I love to hear about what my friends' interests are in case it inspires me to do something new :)

I love heavy metal, with industrial being one of my favourite sub-genres! Some of my favourite bands/musicians include Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Pain, Marilyn Manson, Hypocrisy, Nine Inch Nails, and System of a Down (long list, I know lol). I also like classical music, especially Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky, as well as some rap (MF DOOM, Kendrick Lamar, etc.), and bands like Король и Шут, Птицу ЕМЪ, and 4 Позиции Бруно.

My favourite movie right now is probably Fight Club, although it seems to change every time I watch a new movie! I also love foreign movies, with some of my favourites being Demobbed, Brother, and anything by Leonid Gaidai!

I grew up watching Soyuzmultfilm animations like Cheburashka and Nu Pogodi, and they're still some of my favourite shows. I'm also binging House MD and I Think You Should Leave right now, so I'd love to talk about the shows if you watch them too!

My all-time favourites are Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I’m also reading Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell for university classes right now, both of which I’m really enjoying!
