I am a friendly man. I would enjoy regular email contact with pen pals from right across the world. I am now retired from work.

I am seeking pen pals to have regular email contact with. However, I keep an open mind and if something romantic develops, wonderful!

I have started learning French and German

I enjoy a range of interests and activities. I appreciate nature very much and would like to take photographs of wild life.  I train at the gym regularly as I know that exercise is so good for us. Size wise I am large but the exercise keeps me active.

A whole range of music from rock and pop to country to Scottish, Irish, English traditional and some classical. I also love ballads and the Blues.

Ryans Daughter is one of my favourites. This was a movie made by the brilliant film director David Lean. Another favourite of his was 'Lawrence of Arabia'. 'Bridge on the river Kwai is a brilliant movie. I love all of Lean's movies. A Passage to India was also magnificent. I also love watching the James Bond movies. 'Sophies Choice' was a great movie, and greatly appreciated 'Night of the Iguana' with Richard Burton and Deborah Kerr and Ava Gardner. 'Where Eagles Dare' is a stunning seat of the pants realistic riveting movie. There are so many other favourites also. The Notebook is a wonderful movie about the wonderful power of love. Another of my favourite movies was the brilliant "Twelve Angry Men"
Another film I loved was "Apocolypse Now" and "Platoon" Both were so realistic and brought home the intense fear tragedy and bone chilling excitement of jungle conflict during the Vietnam War.

Loved the series 'Twin Peaks' starring Kyle MacLauchlan and Matt Ontkean. Love watching the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, National Georgraphic channel, Criminal and Investigation channel and Animal Planet. Also love watching sports on TV. Currently enjoying "Naked and Afraid" and my 600 pound life.

Wilbur Smith is one of my favourite authors. He has written so many great books. Very memorable is "The Leopard Hunts in darkeness", and "When the Lion Feeds." One of the best books I have read was 'Saigon' by Anthony Grey. Also greatly enjoyed 'Sea Wolf' by Jack London and White Fang' by Jack London. Another favourite book is "A Town Like Alice" set in the outback of Australia in the 1940s.
