Qui suis je? Who am I?
I'm Océanne from Canada. I'm doing contract work at the moment, so I find myself all over the place with no stable home and I don't want to keep updating my profile every few months. I'm a dual citizen of Canada and the US. I'm a huge cat lover. I have a bachelor's degree in theology (don't ask me why) and planning to apply for my master's in French as a foreign language to start in autumn 2021.

I am going through a huge reinvention of myself at the moment. I'm feeling like this reiteration of me is finally going to be the core me, a foundation upon which to base the rest of my life on. I am also doing a lot of career exploration and investigating different educational paths. There are so many more jobs than I imagined and it's hard to choose just one when I'm so curious. It would help me a lot to hear about your career, what motivated you to take it (or vice versa, what you hate about it), and the educational path you took to get there. It helps to meet real people who do real jobs instead of just reading about the stereotypes.

I am ultimately looking for people to journey through life with to share its beauty and even the moments where it seems not so beautiful, for together, that makes up the whole of human existence.  I'm looking for friends to care about and who care about me on a level where we can gently encourage each other through thick and thin as we grow in life. I value greatly complete honesty and dedication.

I cannot respond to every message I receive. Therefore, in the interest of time and reduction of stress, I will only be replying to the messages that catch my interest. I also reserve the right to say that our language exchange is not working out and to end correspondence. I no longer have the time to spend hours a day searching for the two or three golden, motivated exchange partners that I mesh with while keeping up conversations that are only mediocre at best.

The story of one six-year-old girl caught up in the unspeakable horrors of WW2 in Japan. I read this book first as a young teen or perhaps late pre-teen. I had used to enjoy playing war, but this book opened my eyes and brought home to me just how sickeningly awful war is. Vivid descriptions play from the pages in real-time almost like a movie. Morbidly spellbinding. After reading that, I no longer desired to play war for I had vicariously experienced its unspeakables through Higa's autobiography.

Une autobiographie d'un guérriseur qui a eu un conaissance profonde des propriétés curatives des plantes sauvages. Né dans un petit village dans les Gers en France, il a appris le connaissance de son père dès qu'il était très jeune. Ce livre est écrit comme si Méségué était en train de parler, dans son dialecte, incluant les paroles et expressions qu'il utilisait de son fondation pauvre paysan. C'est seulement en 2021 après au moins 6 ans de poséder ce livre et après 10 ans d'apprendre français que j'ai réussi de le lire.
