About Me
I’m an insatiably curious person when it comes to ideas, art, science, people etc. I’m a balance of most things like spirituality/ intuition and empiricism/ rationalism. I’m working toward a career as a psychologist but that’s kinda bringing itself about naturally and I spend most of my time getting up to odd things here and there. I’m a bootleg analytic philosophy writer, a historical dresser upper, costume maker, sculptor, painter, sketcher, and I do medieval combat, my weapon of choice being axe and seax, also a baker, crafter, antiques restorer, and herbal medicinist.

I spend a lot of my time obsessing trying to figure out answers to things, usually from a moral or spiritual rationalist perspective. A typical day or I guess night because my sleep schedule is reversed looks like 90% pacing and having imaginary debates about ideas. Between that, I get up to all my random creative things.

I feel connecting to and caring for others is the most meaningful thing a person can do, and I think a lot about how to do that in a way that decreases the most amount of possible harm and creates the most amount of good. And I feel all good begins with truth, and any truth that’s bad can be made good but only in first acknowledging the bad.

Resultantly, being aware of and a user of ways to pursue truth is a virtue I look for in others. I like connections that make it possible to at least pursue as much of an overlapping narrative in order to reduce the isolation intrinsic to the mind and move as close to shared truth, and then together toward the mysterious ever distancing ultimate truths.

I suppose anyone who cares about, thinks systematically about, and writes in depth about ideas as a primary hobby could call themselves a Philosopher. I do it to a bit of an extreme but am trying to balance myself, but if you do also, we can exchange analytic writing. If you do any other kind of writing I’d love to read and comment on it too.  My time philosophising generally relates to humanities developmental trajectory. Less so on most hot topics in the area, as entertaining them often can feel like getting tangled in mistakes a little more unreasonable to be made in the first place. For example, I don't spend my time debating whether it's reasonable or not to do any particular specific thing to me this is not the crux of any issue and I feel my time should be directed at identifying and pulling problems out from the root. I focus on fundamental thinking styles and logic which give rise to many such similar logical misunderstandings.

As much as I love philosophers, their issue is thinking instead of doing, so I try to translate my idealistic thinking into tangible feasible applications in the world and so also volunteer assisting people some people who do this so I can learn from them how to actual have a big impact on the world.

I'm studying to be a Psychologist. Personality wise, I'm high in openness and curiosity and am roughly the introverted intuitive feeling sort with a quite developed thinking shadow from Jung’s perspective, MBTI, is INFP, but because I’ve developed my shadow a lot I also have a lot of ENTJ traits, but do it very clumsily. So imagine a shy caring wannabe megalomaniac. So analysing people related things in depth is the natural application.

I am hobbying as a too lazy for their own good, Classic Artist. This involves the sketching, painting, and sculpting, in a way that attempts to replicate the miracles of evolution accurately, obviously I fail but I still try because I love realism in art, the thrill of replication. I have a soft spot and curiosity around less realistic and more surreal art, but that's not where I personally excel, so if you do, I would find it admirable.

If I have not replied at all:

I tend not to get along with most people, that's not to say I dislike most people - I don't, in fact I care a lot about everyone. I used to try to reply to everyone, at least to point out why we likely weren't conversationally compatible. But that attempt lasted two days, because it became thousands of messages, so please do not feel bad if I haven't replied, it's because you haven't said anything which gave me a good reason to, as in you haven't pointed to a commonality or the commonality you pointed to didn't portray the degree of passion I am looking for. And believe me when I say, if you haven't or can't do this, you would definitely not enjoy a conversation with me. I'm looking for people who have a lot of thoughts which they like to analyse, people who want to get closer to truth genuinely, and so welcome external analysis for mutual development, and do not feel offended by this, like I don't, and view it more as mutual exploration and assistance in navigating the terra incognita of the psyche. But not just any kind of influx of thoughts, the kind that are original, admirable, interesting, and meaningful. I like company that challenges me (warmly and gently, preferably) to be my best, and I like to offer that in return. So if you are not looking for that, if I actually did fulfil your request to chat with you, I guarantee you would regret it and likely come away from the conversation feeling as though I was being unnecessarily analytical, pretentious, or long-winded. Emphasis on “you will regret wanting to talk to me if we do and you aren’t into trying to understand things”  since many people are upset I haven’t replied and I feel bad because I would but you probably wouldn’t actually like if I did.

If we were having a good discussion and I did not reply after what seems like a reasonable time frame:

I don't ever ghost people, I just have an unusually busy life and have a lot of people I care for on a daily basis on top of my own responsibilities, pursuits, and hobbies. I may lose the conversation thread in the pile though so if we were having a good chat and it seems like too long it may have just gotten lost.

Ask me if you would like to play chess online while on a video call (or not) to chat! (be warned tho, I’m a bit bad at it, and kind of dramatic, and may cry if my horses are taken).
Requests
I am not interested in flippant romantic interactions. I’ve gone this long without any relationship or romantic themed interactions so you can be sure it’s for good reason and I’m not going to suddenly abandon my principles because you said hello and decided you liked my pictures.

I'm happy to chat with people from anywhere. I won't say don't you dare send me a "hi, how are you" because I know when you are reaching out to people a lot with no feedback it's hard to put the effort into much more. But of course, this is unlikely to get a response, as I explained.

I prefer in depth discussions exploring and fine-tuning our thoughts or lives or exchanging surrealist artistic collaborations, or hobbies etc. If you are closer to home, I like to arrange dress up parties and cook or bake for friends or together.

It's never a necessity that someone hold the same opinions or artistic style as me. Though if I had to choose I’d prefer artistic compatibility than thought compatibility. What matters more to me is the form and quality of overall communication. Not what exactly is communicated.

General hammer horrors, quality sci-fi and fantasy, I am the type to watch a black and white subtitled film about World War 2 told through the eyes of a pigeon, but I also watch the complete opposite kind of film, so it's probably fair to say I have a broad and versatile open-minded interest with a slight preference for the mystical or macabre.

Modern cinema has lost. It's too fast-paced and ignores the nuances that make up quality, and seems to just be tailored to instant gratification and obvious storytelling. I don't want to be told in a film what is happening in the film, I want to wonder, and guess, and poke whoever is sitting next to me and whisper questions until they tell me to shut up.
Favorite TV Shows
Hannibal
Ghost in a Shell
Tokyo Ghoul
The Haunting of Hill House
Anne of Green Gables
Favorite Books
By a significant margin:
Lord of the Rings
The Hobbit
The Silmarillion by Tolkien

Others which speak to my heart:
Crime and Punishment
The Idiot
The Underground Man by Dostoyevsky
Games People Play
Transactional Analysis by Berne
The Stranger
The Plague by Camus (Though he is a bit cringe sometimes)
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo

Many others, though, because I am a person who feels things and thinks things to the extent I would write (and I am writing) reading and engaging with people who feel closer to me than most people I come across can be intense for me, and so I find after a single sentence I have read I feel I've generated so many thoughts in response it's hard to just sit still calmly and keep reading through.
