Hello, I am Richard from California, but living in Uberlandia, Brazil with my wife, a Paulistana. I speak and I am learning German, Spanish, and Portuguese. My native language is English.

I would like to practice Spanish, Portuguese, and German by voice. I can help you with your English pronunciation.

Requests

I love to chat about music. I am a huge fan of live shows and over the years I have been to well over 100 live concerts. Ranging from the Rolling Stones to Stevie Wonder, to Rod Stewart, to Art Blakey, Joao Gilberto and Bill Evans.

Language Exchange Requests

I am looking for language exchange so I can continue to improve the languages I have been learning. I can help with English and I have had some success in helping English learners improve their pronunciation. I have always found it easier to speak the languages I am learning as opposed to reading them which I have always found to be more difficult. Probably because I'm too lazy to look up the words I don't know :)

Hobbies & Interests

I love learning languages. I am a musician and have played the guitar for many years. I also enjoy tennis. I like to listen to shortwave radio, in fact I have always enjoyed listening to the radio, even as a kid. And I still do!

Favorite Music

I enjoy many kinds of music and in recent years I have fallen in love with Brazilian music, the Portuguese langauge and with the Brazilian people as well. I really like the lady singers. Marisa Monte, Adriana Calcanhotto, Maria Rita (her mother Elis Regina, Zelia Duncan, Leila Pinheiro and some of the men too. Djavan, Milton Nascimento and others. And of course the king himself Tom Jobim.

I also own a very large live music collection from bands of the 70's and 80's. None of the shows I have are available at the CD store it is all bootleg material.

Favorite Books

I love science fiction and have read the original guys like Jules Verne and HG Wells and many of the great writers of the sifi boom that started in the 30's and 40's with authors like Heinlein, Asimov, L. Ron Hubbard and many others. I enjoy the Harry Potter books.
