So it’s ten years since I first signed up to this thing. Despite a long hiatus, I came across it again and thought I needed an update.  When I was first on here, there were highs and lows, and I wonder if it has the same appeal ten years down the line.

I’m from Kent, about 40 minutes outside London. I've always lived around the South East of England and hence coming on here in a vague attempt to meet people from slightly further afield.  I work in education development and alumni relations, which is something of a conversation killer on introductions, but it keeps me busy. I’ve been lucky enough to see a lot of Europe and America – for both work and pleasure, but there’s still loads to see so I’m always on the look out for travel suggestions. North-west of the USA is next on the travel hitlist.

I like to believe life is all about taking chances and meeting new people, experiencing new things, I ‘ve just never quite got round to following that mantra. I’m fairly easy going and laid back and can get on with most people, so don’t be afraid to get in touch. If you don't need a drunken night of karaoke to loosen up and you can laugh at pointless things, then we might well get along.  Boring as it sounds, I’d take restaurants and museums over bars and clubs, though being British, an occasional night at the pub has its benefits.

Music, tennis, golf, American football, proper football (soccer), movies, eating out, pub quizzes, pubs in general, travelling, design, photography.

Mostly rock and indie, but some dance. Generally though, the Killers, Temper Trap, Radiohead, the Doves, Razorlight, Damien Rice, Sufjan Stevens, the Postal Service, Imogen Heap, Iron & Wine, Klaxons, Ben Howard, Mumford & Sons, the Vaccines, Audioslave, Snow Patrol, Oasis, the Fray, the Kooks, Lana Del Ray, Foo Fighters, the Shins, Scouting for Girls, Biffy Clyro, Flaming Lips, Arcade Fire, Newton Faulkner, Bon Iver, U2 etc..
