I would love to make friends from other cultures and countries; I'd also delight in helping someone learn English. I'm friendly and open to talk about anything. I'm as nonthreatening as they come.

I 'm well read and can discuss any topic from major art movements, to modern cosmology, Kantian ethics, or European history but my chief interests are in science and technology. I'm always reading about the latest research or invention.

Socially, I'm incapable, but I distract people from that with facetious humor and inappropriate puns.

I have a peculiar interest in Venice and its history. We can be automatic friends if you're from Venezia

In exchange, I'd like to brush up on my German. I studied it for years but have forgotten most of it. I'd also like to learn some basic Italian.

In my spare time, I program, game, read. I'm not fun to watch, but I promise I'm fun to talk to.

A day doesn't pass that I'm not enthusing about some new technology or courting some moral quandary.

Game of Thrones
I love how this fiction disturbs the mechanics of story telling that are taken for granted now. In GRRM's work, almost no one is innately good or evil. It's a much truer representation of human nature than most fiction attempts. Most importantly, there is no promise of a happy ending.

Breaking Bad
Walter White made a slow and tragic metamorphosis from hero to villain as he "broke bad", and you can never tell precisely when he crossed the line. I love fiction that forces us to confront the complexity and ambiguity of deciding who is "good" and who is "bad." Contrarily, I dislike fiction where characters are wholly good, or wholly evil and it is obvious and arbitrary who is which. The real world does not work this way.

My absolute favorite piece literature is Faust by Goethe. It's like a panorama of all human nature in ten acts with the central theme being that we are saved by our insatiable ambition, not by divine intervention
