hahaha, great you mentioned Kalevala, because a few days ago I was trying to remember what it was. A book?
I lke Finnish culture, why are others more interesting?? Finland is at the same time close and different: it's in Europe but it has a huge difference. Your language is not indoeropean, your appeareance is not the average blond as in the germanic countries. I like the north, I like lakes, green lands... and you have the best students in the world!!
I don't speak Finnish yet =( but I am trying to find a family to go there for a month.

hahaha, yeah, tat's how most people picture us xD
The dark hair think bothers me, we are darker than most Europeans, but there are native redheads and blonds here.
Spanish culture is very diverse, just as our ethnicity, we have everything. We have sun and beaches, mountains and snow; it can be really cold here even in summer! but most tourists prefer going to the south and hot places.
Inside Spain we differ a lot from south to north, I am a northern Spaniard, half from Asturias.
Anyway, I love Finland ^^ it has received less influences than Spain during the history, so it might be less diverse, but I think it has to be more genuine because less influence makes it more similar to what the ancestors did, doesn't it?

Sorry for the long comment =P

well, here they think Finnish are serious and not very easy going, but not rude at all. We imagine you as intelligent and smart people who don't like talking =p
How do they picture us there? as dark haired people who only think about partying and don't have culture?

Hii, nice to meet you! Really, I wanted to learn a little bit of finnish because next year I was going to go to Tampere with a grant, but nowadays I think this is imposible for me, because of personal issues. I wanted to improve my English and to live in a foreign country, but maybe in other time.

Anyways, if you like Spain, feel free to ask me or something ^^
