do you think German is a mysogynist Language?
some people do because of the word das Mädchen 'the girl', however der Junge 'the boy'
so ... why the boy is masculin but the girl is neuter?
German Language gives a lot of importance to the morphology (the grammar part that studies how the words are formed) ... and all the diminutives in German are neuter ...
once, some few centúries back, the girl was 'die Magd', they make it diminutive 'das Magdchen' and through some changes of languages ...das Mädchen
so ... die Tür - das Türchen, der Mann - das Männchen ... etc ...
