至於"Jimmy"一詞,其實幾米係台灣一位繪本畫家的筆名,我覺得Mandarin的讀音"幾米"(Ji Mi)同source word好似吖。Cantonese同Mandarin本黎讀音就不盡相同,如果將"詹意"用係國語語境中,就變成"Zhan Yi",讀音相似度自然也都差之甚遠。如果咁都無所謂,也都根本唔需要phonetic translation。

Jyutping? A new term to me. Maybe all the formal education I had so far was in Mandarin pinyin, I did not know there is Jyutping for Cantonese. And I know Cantonese cause it's the language I speak in family. I am hardly to write/type Cantonese words like you did in your profile. You must have a great passion in Chinese language, how long you have been learning Cantonese/Mandarin?
