I was born in Wales but we moved to Surrey in England when I was three, and since then I have worked for 40 years as a teacher in a variety of schools in the UK, and for the last two, in Tampere Finland.
I have been married twice, the first time for 28 years to a much older man, and the second lasted four and a half years before he went off with a girl the same age as his daughter, just after I moved here to be with him. So, I found myself alone in a strange land, understanding very little Finnish, but fortunately I had a job I liked. Surviving has been my main goal, but I have learned the language, made some good friends and keep myself quite busy with various art and craft groups, social activities and travelling around Europe.
I have not been particularly lucky in love, and like you, would like to meet someone honest and caring, who will make me laugh, not scare the living daylights out of me, steal from me, or drink to oblivion. Trust is the most important thing and of course a romantic man would be a real bonus. I am very honest and I have always given my heart and soul to a relationship and although my head tells me to avoid men in the future, my heart is saying, not all men are the same, and so here I am writing to you!
Well, maybe you will read this and think no thanks, if so, good luck with everything, if not, it would be nice to hear from you again….
Thank you for complement.
Anyway, after a pig of a day I'm sitting in bed writing this.
I work as a teacher here in Finland but I have a small place in the south of England, which is now home. I've been on my own for two years and now feel ready to branch out and find some interesting folk to write to and hopefully become friends with. If anything else develops that's a bonus but not a necessity.
So, oz. I have a cousin in Perth but have never been to Australia myself. One day. Have you always lived there? How do you spend your time in such a hot place? Here, for at least six months of the year we're wrapped up like eskimos, and if you're like me, trying to stay upright in the snow and ice!
At the moment it's wet and windy, though still quite warm. I suppose you're in shorts trying to keep cool. Tell me more about you if my few words interest you.
