I wish I'd known a person like you when I was your age. I DEVOUR history and have since short pants. Byzantine and Central European history, primarily. The Early Modern period, especially (w/ regards to Central Europe, of course). If you'd like a book recommendation for Germany or Russia - or anywhere in Central Europe, I'd be happy to help. Here's one: The best written biography I've read is Massey's 'Peter the Great.' Excellent. You won't be able to put it down.
