A word of advice from a 68yo. I worked like there was no tomorrow for $$$. It massaged my ego & brought me a crashing thud. At age 42, I was burnt out. A BIG wakeup call. Indirectly, it was a bonus. No more CPA days but I spent about 10 years finding me. At age 55, super fit, a new set of priorities & being sober for 19 years, I emigrated to Northern Thailand where the hands of time are turned back by a century. Finally, I could live as I wished.
It has not been easy - bipolar disorder (depression) and a broken leg when I was riding my bicycle to the local Buddhist temple have been life changers.
I also succumbed to throat cancer which required full teeth extraction.
Today I am happy - no BMW Series 5.
The appreciation of the simple things is superb.
Without the pain & suffering, I would not have the life I have today.
The Buddha stated that you are born, you suffer & then you die.
Whichever path you take, I wish you good luck & karma.
