I think my favourite thing is the design of cars and clothing in those vintage crime shows and how particular events are judged that led up to the crime at the time. For instance one well made episode was about a teenager who always cut school, to an extent that no one actively missed her any more in the 70s... today there is some sort of law enforcement if you miss school repeatedly without a credible excuse.
