Hi Tom, your observation that you’re not sure why hospital dramas appeal to you, is something we share. If you have even a smidgeon of knowledge in medicine, I wonder if it’s because sometimes we guess the correct diagnosis. Or are they written that way to make us feel clever?
I managed to find one truly long-term correspondent during the Covid lockdown with a gentleman also from the UK. We exchanged email for quite a while but unfortunately his wife became seriously ill and he simply didn’t have the time after that.
You are almost as old as me, and in some respects that makes the “penpal” search all the more challenging. I am a widow, have been for almost 20 years now, but not on the prowl. I have had a few too many experiences with scammers, some were hilariously dopey, one was actually lonely, another spent close to five years sending me thoughts and prayers before he screwed-up the courage to ask for a boatload of money. I think I’m getting fairly good at recognizing AI-generated responses to whatever I write.
